The day of Äme Anderberg's retirement is quickly approaching, and the team has scheduled the top rider's last days as an active cyclist.
The Swedish star will have 3 last races, and possibly 4 if he is up for the job. Starting of in Bresica, Italy, Anderberg will try to convert his 3 former podium finishes into a final victory in the top division. He will quickly hereafter travel to Poland to compete in Bytom - Katowice where he will be defending the title as he ended up winning last season's edition of the 1.1. race that is known to be dominated by Swedes.
As a final race for competition, and possibly participation as well, Äme Anderberg is ready at the starting line in Stuttgart, Germany racing towards München where he has won before as well. Depending on how it goes in Germany, Äme Anderberg has decided that this race will be his last, though he hints that he might take on yet another race.
After a short bump down to the Zyte Division where Äme Anderberg quickly ensured 2 victories, Team Zyte is now back in the Top Division, which the man himself is of course happy for: "I feared that I had to end my career in the Second Division, which I must admit would have been a shame. I therefore decided to do my very best in order for our team to get back in the Top Division so that I could get the proper goodbye I'm hoping for. Ideally, I would like to win - don't we all? - but all I'm looking for is a good chance to say goodbye to my colleagues and friends" says Äme Anderberg.
"I'm especially looking forward to Bytom - Katowice. Many of my fellow Swedish colleagues and friends have been riding here with much success. Especially my friend Hans Granat who used to ride for EkerSvarvarna. He will though not participate this season as he dedicated his last years in cycling to help a new upcoming French team, Equpe le Equipe. On the other hand, many other friends are signed up, including Oskar Forsgren [EkerSvarvarna] who I've trained a lot with as well" says the soon to be retired star.
